Neel Somani

Researcher & Entrepreneur

I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2019 with a triple major in math, computer science, and business, completing an honors thesis in privacy/formal methods research (ACM Distinguished Paper).

After a brief stint at Airbnb as a software engineer, I joined Citadel as a quant researcher in the commodities group.

In 2022, I founded Eclipse, a verifiable computing company. We raised $65M, and I led the company through the end of 2025.

Since then, I've shifted focus to what I think are the two defining problems of this decade: machine learning and the energy required to power it. My primer Power 2026 reached #1 overall on Apple Books.
